ROBERT M. PETTIS MD, MSPH, FAAOA

Dr. Robert Pettis has spent more than 35 years living in Southern California, where he completed his Bachelor’s degree at the University of California – Berkeley. This was followed up by a Master’s degree in Science and Public Health (MSPH) at the University of California – Los Angeles. Dr. Pettis then completed his medical degree, internship and surgical residency in Otolaryngology at the University of California – Los Angeles (UCLA). He has served as a faculty member at the UCLA Department of Head and Neck Surgery, giving instruction to surgical residents about diseases of the head and neck. Dr. Pettis is also the two term Department Chair for ENT/Head and Neck Surgery at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center.

After surviving critical skull-base surgery at a young age, Dr. Pettis is now deeply motivated to give the greatest care possible to his patients. Patient testimonials further reinforce and bolster Dr. Pettis’ devotion to surgical care for the head and neck.

Following evidence based principles, Dr. Pettis utilizes state-of-the-art techniques and technology to create optimal results for every patient, providing individualized care plans customized for each patient’s differing needs. Besides using both traditional and minimally-invasive surgical techniques, Dr. Pettis is also specially trained to perform leading-edge robotic head and neck surgery, which offers improved precision for difficult and complex surgeries.
